We had a great day out on the track last week courtesy of KiwiRail. Our P11 Bogie project team (Leon, Chris, Bevan, Darrell and Greg) got a chance to ride on the fruits of their labour, and what a wonderfully quiet and smooth ride it was. We were privileged to test the final product and can’t wait to ride on the Tranz Alpine when KiwiRail’s new AK cars are implemented.

The AK carriages and the P11 bogies have passed their initial testing, validating the advanced analysis techniques that Motovated used in the design. Now they are on the track for the final commissioning tests before being put into service.

Congratulations to KiwiRail Mechanical Design Group, Interfleet, Motovated, Holmes Solutions and Hillside Engineering for making it happen, it’s great to see that all of our hard work has paid off!
