Introducing our new Business Development Manager - Chris Morison

Chris Morison Having arrived in Christchurch recently from the UK, Chris brings another dimension to Team Motovated. His experience includes working for the world’s largest supplier of railway fastenings as the Applications Engineering Manager, specialising in products which reduce noise and vibration emission. His PhD in modelling the biomechanics of Shaken Baby Syndrome gives him added expertise in advanced finite element techniques and has been referenced worldwide.

Chris provides you with a point of contact who can understand your Engineering needs. He will be getting in touch with our clients throughout the year to talk through any plans that you have. We would like to further understand the challenges our clients face and where our services could really ‘take the stress out of engineering your vision!’

In the meantime, if you would like to talk to Chris he can be reached on 03 982 5283 or 021 82 5283, or you can email him on chris@motovated.co.nz.

chains

A blacksmith is given five pieces of chain, with three links in each chain. He has to connect the pieces together to make a single chain. How many links does he have to open and then close again to do so with the least amount of effort?

2008 Project Planning…

Most of you will have started to put together your project plans for the forthcoming year. There are lots of times when profitable projects get put on the back burner due to resource and time issues. This is where Motovated can really help. We are able to offer you the extra resource you need to enhance your existing engineering team, working with you to help achieve better, quicker results and reduce production costs and risk. We are also able to offer designers and analysts as an ‘in house’ resource for your specific projects. This gives you greater control and added communication links, ensuring optimum efficiency.

If you want to talk to us more about a project that has been in the background too long, call us now on 03 982 5283 to ensure we have the resource available when you require it.

2008 R & D Tax Incentives…

The Governments new R&D tax incentives are due to start on 1 April 2008. This will allow NZ businesses to apply for a 15% tax credit against any eligible R&D activities. We have registered our intention to become a listed research supplier, and will keep you updated with further information as it becomes available. For information about eligible activities, contact Chris on 03 982 5283 or visit the IRD website.

We hope you are enjoying the beginning of the new year. We are really looking forward to what 2008 will bring. Enjoy your summer!

Greg and the team at Motovated.
