“ Skellerup has a long history in Rotomoulding, but the challenge of entering the competitive Septic Tank market led us to research the existing knowledge base thoroughly. There was surprisingly little data available on rotomoulded septic tanks, so we worked with our plastics suppliers, the Association of Rotational Moulders (ARM) and Motovated Design & Analysis to help us develop a fundamental understanding of how plastics behave under significant loads over time.

Motovated's extensive experience and knowledge of load paths etc., as well as their software enabling the visualisation of stresses and deflections before products were even made, was extremely helpful. Actually seeing the deflections predicted by the software in the required hydro static testing provided a lot of confidence in the method, and really brought home the need to do this type of analysis up front for any critical product.

Being able to review design changes quickly and easily was very helpful from a mould making and client perspective, as the 3D nature of their software provides for easy understanding for all parties. Having confidence we won't have to rework our moulds after manufacture to get the part we wanted, lets us control costs and time-lines better.

Skellerup has sold the rotomoulding side of our business, but we would be glad to recommend Motovated and the knowledge they gained in the analysis of our tanks to anyone in the future.       ”
