Expert Witness

We live in an industrialised world, where we are surrounded every day by engineered artefacts like machines and buildings. These artefacts all contain embedded risk and contained energies that can cause harm to people or the environment. It is an unfortunate truth that sometimes things go wrong, and harm is caused. Often, the harm is financial – but in the worst cases, lives are lost.

When something goes wrong with engineered systems, an investigation is usually needed to understand why, and so that lessons can be learned. Motovated have long experience assisting with investigations, and in acting as expert witnesses in court proceedings. Depending on the situation, our expert witness services could be engaged by WorkSafe, by lawyers acting on behalf of PCBUs, or by insurance companies or loss adjusters.

Our work in this area is led by our Operations Director, Joe Bain, who has extensive experience with investigation and expert witness work over 12+ years and a wide range of different cases. The work is supported by a tight group of engineers within the Motovated team who have also spent many years assisting with this work.
